Bad Party

Well last weekend was fun and disgusting at the same time, Well parts were fun, other parts were just, so bad that I'm trying to think of them as funny. You get what I mean? Well on Saturday my cousin decides to have a party and party's here in Argentina always need to have a drink with them. Lets just say that that got out of hand. First everyone but my brother and his novia watched a movie (Addicted to Sex I think?) After that I went to my bed because I used some mouth mash and I think I swallowed some because my stomach was killing me. When I'm done rolling around in pain and going to the bathroom everyone is in the kitchen having said drink. Well drinks. I'm still feeling sick so I'm not drinking anything and go back to my bed and go on my computer till my stomach stops killing me. That was around 2 I think. When I come back down at around 4:30 the kitchen is pretty trashed after all the drinks and everyone has had quite a bit other then me and another girl. I'm walking around the house and everyone is like, come on join the party have a drink, but I don't since I wasn't feeling good.
Then everything goes to Hell. One of the guys got pretty messed up and the other guys made him take a shower. He doesn't want to, that goes on for like 10 mins. I go to another one of the computers and then later I hear a big Crash. I go to Mauro's room where they all are and the sink is on the ground with one side of it smashed and the guys are still arguing. I tell them all the shut up and we get the sink back on the pedestal and you get what you seen above. He finally gets shoved in the shower, takes one and then one of the other people there gets sick. Lets just say the night ended with 3 people getting sick and Mauro's room just horrible and the bathroom just destroyed. And the whole house smells awful for the next day or so. Here are photos of around the house today.

And today I had school for the first time in a month and I slept in because no one else was going to school and my mom is not home. Also my house kinda just runs out of things when my mom is not here. My brother and I Agree

Iguazu Falls and Buenos Aires and everything in between

Well the Last 3 weeks have been both boring and fun, going back and forth all the time. Mainly because I'm lazy and a lot of people I know were not here after I got back from my trip to Iguazu Falls. It started out with Swine Flu stopping school for I think a week before the real school break was to start. A few days before the break would have started I went to Restistencia for an AFS trip to Iguazu Falls and the Province of Misiones . The Pic above is our group at the falls. I will put down a list of links at the bottom of this post to my Facebook Photos where I have put all of them up, uploading a lot of photos to Blogger is difficult at best. They should be open, I've set the albums to everyone, tell me in the comments if it doesn't work.
The trip started in Restistencia, I went down with my family and went to dinner with them and to a computer store before meeting up with the other students around 9PM or so I think. Some of the other students were from Thailand, New Zealand, the US, Germany and Sweden I think, hope I didnt forget anyone. We had our own bus and spent the night driving, talked for a few hours, played some games, watched I think only a U2 concert, no one was really watching that or cared for it. In the morning we were somewhere in Misiones, I think near Wanda. We stopped at a hostel I think for food, they had a gift shop next to it also. Then we went on to a Mine of some sort, mainly had Amethyst rocks opened for viewing and some calcium deposits. The second and first gift shops we went to had mainly rocks and a lot of Amethyst.
Next we went to our Hotel in Iguazu, I was happy to lay down on a bed finally. All the guys were in one room and the girls in 2 others. It had a pool, computer, and TV and that was about it. After we got settled we went back out and went to the point where the Iguazu and Parana rivers meet, there is a big blue pole sort of thing marking it. Then we went into the city, went to eat, and then to the hotel. Later we went back out to eat and then a bar.
The next day we got up and went to the Falls. Going down trails, then on a little train and then on a large walkway that goes all the way to the large falls at Iguazu National Park, within 20 feet of where the falls go over. Then photos, then back out and on the train back to where a lot of trails come together. Next we went down the other paths that go to the other smaller falls all around the park, in 2 trails. After that we had Lunch, I had Papa Fritas. Then down another trail that goes towards the river and the boats. After some photos next to one of the falls, that photo up top, we headed to the boats for the ride right up to the falls, like the Maid of the Mist. I didn't know that the boat goes under one of the falls so I got soaked from head to toe and my shoes too, and I didn't have an extra pair. Next the boat went down river maybe a mile or 2 and stopped and we went up into the forest a little to take a ride on a big truck looking at the forest. We got back to the main area where there are shops and an ATM and I got some money and a new shirt to wear. After some time there we went into the city and to the Duty Free shop. They had lots of alcohol, cigs, clothes, electronics and such there, and I dont think many of us got anything. I bought some sandals since my shoes were wet and then we went back to the hotel. At the hotel me and one of the other students jumped in the pool once, and it was maybe 50 degrees and then I went to change clothes. Later we went to eat dinner, and then went to a bar for an hour or 2 and talked and had fun.

Next day we got up and then went south to an Aquarium, not by american standards. And then to a like camp or something where we had to go through a maze to get food. Everyone made it through and I was second and then it took like 10 minetes for the last person to get through. I went a second time and almost bet them to the finish. Then we all went again and I was first with another guy right next to me. I was really tired after that and I had fallen in the mud once because it had just rained and I was in sandals. Later we ate chorizo con Pan, which is sausage with bread and chicken. After eating we sat around talking, tried to start a football game and then took some photos of the group. Then it started raining and we went to Posadas.

When we got there we just went into the hotel and then it started raining A LOT. We went to have dinner in the hotel and then later went to a Bar. It was fun going to the bar because it was poring outside and there were like little rivers in the streets. Plus we went to one place and they didnt have any tables so we had to go back out in the rain and go to another. Later after an hour or 2 we went back to the hotel and went to sleep. The next day we left and went back to Restistencia and we waited for buses home.
The next week or so I didn't do much because not many of the people I know were around. Although I did get to go on my family's boat one day and that was pretty cool. And then a week or 2 after I got back from the trip I went to Buenos Aires. I liked that a lot.

I went there for some Spanish classes with some Spanish course exchange students that are staying in Buenos Aires. I liked the classes and talking with them a lot, the only people I have really had a lot of fun all the time with here had been other exchange students. I also got to go to McDonald's and a Mac store for a new iPod cable. Also a music store to get a CD I have wanted, although they didn't have some of the newer music I wanted to get. I also stayed with a family in one of the city's around Buenos Aires. Then on the last day the classes finished early and I got to go walk around the city a bit, get money, and I went to a book store and got 4 books. Then I went back to the AFS office and then to a bus and to Formosa. And when I got here I had a package with shirts and magazines and my yearbook, so that was nice.
So I just made a Giant post for what I think is no one reading this, so how about some comments? Don't prove me right on my thinking that my mom is the only person reading this, and I find it redundant since I email her stuff all the time.

Ah, and Links....

Update I Guess

Well it's been 2 months since my last one so I guess I will make a new update, i'm bored right now. I've been to a few partys, gone out with my brother a lot, eatten a lot of ice cream and chocolate. I was suppose to go meet a girl for ice cream but she had to stay home today :/. Spanish is coming along, I think it's slowed down now, need to speak more. School is a pain in the ass, i'm just generally mad there. I guess its because most of the people in the class won't leave me alone, and it's not that they are being the whole, I want to be your friend, it's more of acting like a bunch of 5 year olds all the time. And the SCREAMING is just awful. But I like just about everything else other then school :P. I'm having more fun my Mauro and his friends, they go out a lot more and I meet a lot of new people. I've been on the computer a lot during the week, watching TV shows and movies and music. My hard drive is filling up fast :P Taking lots of photos, they are on Facebook, putting them on here is just difficult and annoying, uploading things to 2 different places. I guess I can put up a few.

I'm missing my school at home more, can't wait to go back, when I have too :P Missing my PS3 and my computer. I kinda miss my friends, more the ones that will not be there next year or the ones that will only have one year left next year. Worrying about college now, thinking I might have a chance at getting into Cornell. Dreaming that MIT or Stanford would be great. U of M if I didn't get into Cornell. I like Cornell, my dad went there. I have been there before and I liked the feeling of it, small but still pretty big. And a very good school. And Dad's wallet will be smoking if I go there. Thinking about what classes I have to take when I get back to get near any of those schools.

I like it here, so much more freedom. I feel better here, everyone seems to be so much nicer. It's also nice not having your real parents around, spoiling the fun :P I'm starting to notice differences between parents in the US and Argentina, but I also think I got lucky with parents that don't worry much. Me and Mauro kinda go out and do whatever we want most of the time. I like this freedom, I hope I have some when I get back.....

First week in Argentina

Well i guess its time to update this thing, mom seems to be nagging me to do it. Well, I'm not good at this writing thing, in English or Spanish. so i guess i will just list out some things that are different I've noticed.

  • They drive like nut cases here, Right of way is backwards compared to the US. Cars get right of way over everything and if your in the way they wont stop.
  • The Cops here don't do much of anything but stand around talking, and sometimes they take you in for no reason at all.
  • Also they drive Very Aggressively, like speeding, going around cars at high speeds, its all fun.
  • People are So friendly, they say hi, do the kiss on the check thing even if they don't know you. A lot of times you are walking down the street and you get a bunch of random people saying hi to you.
  • It is VERY HOT. it was like 110 degrees outside the first day of school i had. So hot that a lot of people just go to bed in the middle of the day.
  • Everyone's houses have metal gates around them and shutters over the windows.
  • They stay out Very late, most days i don't get to bed till 12 AM.
  • And on the Weekends people are out partying till 4, 6, 8 in the morning.
  • There is Coke EVERYWHERE, although there is a Coke Plant in the town, there are signs for Coke every 20 feet.
Well that's all i can think of right now. So on to my house.
I like it, its nice. My family has a Flat Screen TV, Internet, a little pool in the back. My family is very friendly and they want to give me everything. They are very Open and want to learn English and about America. They also own a Gym right around the corner from my house. My school is about 4 or 5 blocks from my house so you can walk. At school everyone is so friendly, everyone asking me questions, some good, some bad. And school gets out at 12:30 in the Afternoon. That's really nice.

I don't know, that's all i can think off. Oh, the Meat is GOOD. If you want to see Pics go to my Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=63909&id=737087380&l=fbbbe. Post a comment!!!

There is my City!! My family says that there house is within 4 blocks of that Square in the middle of the map. Zoom out to see where I am in Argentina as a whole. Well i forgot that I haven't been on here in a while and haven't said where I'm going!! I'm going to Formosa, Argentina I the north of Argentina near Paraguay. My family has 5 kids one of which is still in the house. I'm told he is 17 and a guy, that's about it right now. The older siblings are 3 girls and another guy. I don't really know what my host dad does other then some kind of Accountant, the Spanish language barrier is hard to cross. My School will be a small private one with about 25 kids in each class and one class to a grade, that will be a big change. My school in Michigan has like 400 kids to each grade! My city has 210,000 people living in it! And my school and house are right in the center of it, I've got a feeling that this is going to be a good exchange.....
